After State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB) has changed the rules for withdrawing cash from ATMs. So, now with the new change, PNB account holders will need a One Time Password (OTP) for cash withdrawal of ₹10,000 and above from ATMs. So, starting today (December 1), if you are heading to a PNB ATM to withdraw ₹10,000 or more, don’t forget to keep your mobile with you. As you have to enter the OTP sent by the bank on your registered mobile number. Cash withdrawal will not be possible for PNB account holders without OTP.

Here’s how to withdraw money from PNB ATM through OTP-based system

You will need an OTP to withdraw money from PNB ATM. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

OTP is a system-generated numeric string of characters that authenticates the user for a single transaction.

  • Check in at PNB ATM.
  • Enter your Debit/ATM card.
  • Enter the required details.
  • If you are withdrawing more than ₹10000 at a time, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP received on your mobile number.
  • After entering the OTP you will get the cash.

With the introduction of its OTP-based cash withdrawal facility, PNB ATMs have added another layer of security to cash withdrawals.

In September, the country’s top lender, SBI extended day-long OTP-based cash withdrawals for Rs 10,000 and above across all its ATMs in the country. Earlier it was available for transactions at SBI ATMs between 8 pm to 8 am.

  • First login to your PNB ONE app.
  • After that go to the Services menu. Here go to the Debit Cards section. Or you can directly go to the Debit Card section.
  • Here you have to go to Cardless cash withdrawal.
  • After this you have to select debit account number.
  • After that enter the amount you want to withdraw.
  • Now click on Continue.
  • Then you have to create a 4 digit temporary PIN (TPIN).
  • After this you have to give Transaction Password.
  • After giving Transaction Password, when you confirm, an OTP will be sent to your number.
  • Now confirm by giving OTP.
  • After this a success message will appear. In which there will also be Transaction Reference Number.
  • All the information will also be sent to you through SMS.
  • The validity of this reference transaction will be 2 hours.

  • Now you have to go to Punjab National Bank ATM.
  • Select Cardless Transactions at the top of the ATM screen.
  • After this select cardless WDL.
  • Now you are asked for 12 digit reference number. Now select Proceed.
  • Now you have to enter your 4 digit TPIN. After that click on Proceed.
  • Click on YES/NO to acknowledge the transaction.
  • After this there will be a sound from your ATM machine. Your money will go out easily.
