11 Apr Negros, Cebu dive into AFC Cup action today
Philippines Football League (PFL) clubs Ceres Negros FC and Global Cebu FC will continue their campaign in the group stage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup against separate foes today, 11 April.
Reigning domestic and ASEAN Zone Champions Ceres Negros are scheduled to face Cambodian side Boeung Ket Angkor FC at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh at 5:30 p.m., Manila Time.
The Busmen are currently seated on top of Group F with 10 points on three wins and a draw while Boeung Ket Angkor is placed at the bottom with just three points on a win and three defeats.
During their previous meeting, Ceres Negros demolished their Cambodian foes, 9-0, at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod last 13 February with Takumi Uesato, Bienvenido Maranon and OJ Porteria each scoring a brace.
Meanwhile, Global Cebu will be playing FLC Thanh Hoa FC of Vietnam for their last meeting in the elimination round at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila at 7:30 p.m., Manila Time.
Both clubs are currently tied on the last spot of Group G with four points each but FLC Thanh Hoa holds a one-point advantage against Global Cebu on goal difference.
In the initial meeting between the two teams, the Vietnamese club escaped with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Filipino squad at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.
