Kaya FC overpowers Stallion Laguna in UMak

Kaya FC clipped a convincing 4-1 victory over Stallion Laguna FC in their second match up in this year’s Philippines Football League (PFL) season during their meeting at the University of Makati Stadium on Sunday, 22 April.

The victory propelled Kaya to the third spot of the league rankings with seven points on a 2-1-2 win-draw-loss card while handing Stallion Laguna their third loss in five matches.

Ghanaian striker Jordan Mintah starred for Kaya with a first half brace while local stars Jovin Bedic and Jalsor Soriano added a goal each in the fourth and 30 minutes respectively.

During the previous meeting of the two clubs, Stallion came out with a 3-1 triumph over Kaya at the Binan Football Stadium in Laguna on 14 April.

Meanwhile, Davao Aguilas FC outplayed JPV Marikina FC, 3-2, through the two-goal haul of Phil Younghusband at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Saturday, 21 April.

Davao was hot off the gates with back-to-back goals by Younghusband and Kim Sungmin in the 13th and 18th minutes but JPV Marikina was able to equalize the score line before the break.

John Celiz sank the initial goal for the men from Marikina with a shot from deep inside the box while Keigo Moriyasu struck the equalizing goal in the first minute of added time in the first half.

However, Younghusband stepped up his game to bring his club to victory in the 55th minute with a sneaky shot from the six-yard box.

The Aguilas are now seated on the No. 2 spot of the standings with eight points on two wins and two draws while JPV Marikina fell to the No. 4 seed with two wins and three losses.
