Philippine Football League (PFL) side Ceres Negros FC took down Myanmar’s Yangon United FC, 4-2, to take the early lead in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup Zonal Semifinals series in their meeting at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Bacolod on 9 May 2018.

Spanish standout Bievenido Maranon caught fire early in the match, firing twice in the 29th and 44th minute while Patrick Reichelt also added a goal of his own in the 33rd minute to put their club up, 3-0, going into the midgame intermission.

Defender Manuel Herrera also managed to etch his name on the scoresheet with a strike in the 63rd minute while ex-Global Cebu FC striker Sekou Sylla sank the two goals for Yangon United.

The two clubs will once again meet at the Thuwanna Stadium in Yangon for the final leg of their series on 16 May 2018.
