02 Dec Weekly CEO Column: The PFL Workshop for 2018
As the 2017 Philippines Football League (PFL) Regular Season wraps up with the PFL Finals Series, preparations for the 2018 season has already begun with the first part of the PFL Pre-Season 2018 Club Workshop.
Part 1 of the Pre-Season 2018 Workshop will be a 3 day event; 29, 30 November 2017 and 5 December 2017. On the first day, the clubs were briefed on the use of the FIFA Transfer Management System (FIFA TMS). The objective was a refresher and to educate our Clubs on the use of, and about any recent changes to the International TMS.
On the second day, the PFL discussed the proposed competitions calendar for season 2018. Clubs were given the opportunity to provide their feedback’s, ideas and suggestions prior to this workshop. The objective is to look into account all elements and provide a holistic and interrupted calendar. The competitions calendar will be presented to the LFI Board of Directors for approval and therafter to the PFF Board of Governors for endorsement.
This was then followed with the proposed draft standard player contract to be introduced for season 2018 onward. The standard player contract which will be issued by the PFF, is prepared in accordance with the PFF Statutes and FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer Regulations.
On 5 December 2017, Clubs will be briefed on the introduction to the competition management system for season 2018 onward. This is an online tool to manage competitions, including registration of players and officials for that purpose.
The second part of the Pre-Season 2018 Workshop will be held in January 2018 in anticipation of the new season.
