Report: Stallion Laguna FC 2-2 Davao Aguilas FC

Phil Younghusband scored a late penalty to salvage a point for Davao Aguilas FC in their encounter with Stallion Laguna FC last Saturday at the Biñan Football Stadium.

Fitch Arboleda scored twice in either half and goalkeeper Benito Rosalia pulled on a man of the match performance. However Davao found their form in the second half to share the points.

Arboleda opened the scoring in the 36th minute. The forward was sent free after the Davao defense broke down and slotted the shot past Marko Trkulja.

James Younghusband drew level for Davao in the 66th minute. Davao had been dominating since the start of the second half and were throughly rewarded with a chance from close range following the corner kick.

However, Arboleda handed Stallion the lead once again three minutes later. Another chance from Melliza late in the match almost put the result beyond doubt, but Trkulja parried it out to safety.

With just second left in the match Davao gained a lifeline when a penalty was called inside the box. Up stepped Phil Younghusband to slot the equalizer and end it at 2-2.

The result left Stallion in sixth place with 27 points, only behind JPV Marikina on goal difference. Davao remained in seventh place with eight points from 18 matches.
