PFL Goals of the Week (23-24 September 2017)

This past weekend in the Philippines Football League provided a lot of action, drama, and of course goals. Here are the best goals from Saturday and Sunday. Did your favourite goal made it? See below.

1. Miguel Tanton (Kaya FC Makati) vs Stallion Laguna FC – When you return from a month-long lay off, you expect to make an impact and it is exactly what Kaya FC Makati midfielder Miguel Tanton did. Just seconds after coming in, Tanton made a memorable return, sending a looping ball from over 40 yards that went in under the bar.

2. Stephan Schröck (Ceres Negros FC) vs Global Cebu FC – With only 11 minutes left in what has been a tight affair between bitter rivals Ceres Negros FC and Global Cebu FC, Stephan Schröck produced the winner. The midfielder fired from close to 20 yards out to send the ball to the top corner and cue celebrations at the Pana-ad Stadium.

3. Jordan Mintah (Kaya FC Makati) vs Stallion Laguna FC – Top scorer Jordan Mintah continued where he left off, scoring the first goal against Stallion Laguna FC. Receiving a pass from Marwin Angeles, the forward latched it towards Robert Lopez-Mendy, who made a run on the left flank. Mendy cut the ball back to Mintah, who weaved past his marker before slotting it to the bottom corner.

4. Jake Morallo (FC Meralco Manila) vs Davao Aguilas FC – In what was an anticipated match between FC Meralco Manila and Davao Aguilas FC, Jake Morallo loomed large for Meralco. Tyler Matas broke free on the left hand side and Morallo free in the area for a powerful header past the goalkeeper.

5. Angelo Marasigan (Ilocos United FC) vs JPV Marikina FC – Down a goal against JPV Marikina, Angelo Marasigan struck a well taken free kick to draw level, and start their comeback on their way for their first win of the season.

6. Kennedy Uzoka (Ilocos United FC) vs JPV Marikina FC – With time winding down, and the scores level at 1-1, Charlie Beaton sent a weighted ball past the JPV Marikina backline and into the feet of Kennedy Uzoka. The forward brought the ball to the box and slotted it past Nelson Gasic for the winning goal and complete the comeback. It was Ilocos’ first win of the season after 20 tries.
